2012-04-19 - Order and storage management for inserts
ABB, one of the leading suppliers of automation solutions for the newspaper production industry, has announced a further order for its insert management system MPS InsertManager. The order comes from the Mittelland Zeitungsdruck AG in Switzerland, which prints daily newspapers such as the Aargauer Zeitung, Solothurner Zeitung, Basellandschaftliche Zeitung, Sonntag and also a number of weekly newspapers.
The system covers the complete handling of insertion orders and the management of the insert stores at the printing sites in Aarau and Subingen.
Urs Binkert, CEO of the Mittelland Zeitungsdruck AG explains the reasons for the order: "we work together with various internal and external publishers and print a large number of daily and weekly newspapers. Like many other printing houses, we have tried until now to handle the insertion orders with conventional tools like Excel and email. However, it was a continuous challenge to keep the production data for the inserts consistent across all departments and print sites. With MPS InsertManager we will have a single tool that covers all our needs and ensures that the data only have to be entered once and will remain consistent."
The system will be commissioned in September of this year.
